THE FOUNDATION: YOUR BRAND STARTS NOW – WHAT EVERY MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETE NEEDS TO KNOW
Beyond the Game Industries is proud to announce the launch of its highly anticipated Summer Speaker Series, a four-part educational experience designed to help middle and high school athletes understand personal branding, college readiness, and NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) opportunities. We have four sessions this summer and each will build on the last, guiding student-athletes and their families through the steps of building a personal brand, gaining visibility, understanding NIL rules, and creating long-term career plans.

Session 1 kicks off on June 19, 2025, at Iconic Sports Academy, 11530 Menchaca Rd., Austin, TX, and will also be livestreamed for nationwide access. This engaging 90-minute to 2-hour session will include a keynote address, panel discussion, interactive learning, and a Q&A with top experts in the sports, education, and branding fields.

PATRICK DOHERTY
NIL Consultant
With over 15 years of experience as a college football coach, Patrick Doherty has lived and led through every level of competitive football—from Division III to FBS. His coaching career has spanned Franklin College, Butler University, West Virginia University, and Texas State University, with roles ranging from QB Coach to Offensive Coordinator to Special Teams Specialist.
Patrick now serves as an NIL Consultant and was previously the Director of Sales & Development for Victory Star NIL, the official collective at Texas State. In this role, he managed and facilitated NIL deals between student-athletes, businesses, donors, and the university—ensuring all sides are legally protected and supported. His experience makes him uniquely qualified to guide student-athletes on how branding and NIL opportunities truly work.​

Kam Scott is a former college basketball player turned entrepreneur, dedicated to helping athletes succeed in the digital age. As the founder of VidPort Sports and Athlete Creator Lab, Kam is at the forefront of redefining how student-athletes build, grow, and monetize their brands during the NIL era.
With over six years of experience in social media strategy and content monetization, Kam speaks powerfully on leadership, digital branding, and athlete empowerment. His mission is clear: to equip the next generation of athletes with the tools and mindset to create sustainable opportunities beyond the game.

Dexter Pittman
NBA Champion | Global Professional Athlete | Youth Mentor
Dexter Pittman is a powerful example of perseverance, adaptability, and global experience in the world of basketball. A Rosenberg, Texas native, Dexter began his rise at B.F. Terry High School, earning District 24-4A MVP honors before taking his talent to the University of Texas. Known for his strength in the paint and commitment to conditioning, he became a standout at UT and soon after entered the NBA.
In the 2010 NBA Draft, Dexter was selected 32nd overall by the Miami Heat and went on to win an NBA Championship in 2012. He later played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks, and the NBA G League’s Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Dexter’s career spans a rich international journey with professional stops in China, Puerto Rico, Turkey, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and more. These global experiences have given him a unique, adaptable approach to the game and life beyond it.
Today, Dexter brings his story and insights to young athletes, helping them understand the reality of athletic success, personal discipline, and brand value both on and off the court.

The "Beyond the Game" Sports Career Speaking Series is an educational initiative designed to expose middle, high school and college students, as well as coaches, on how to steer through current athletic development but also educate athletes to the diverse career opportunities available in the sports industry. The series will focus on professions beyond being a player, including coaching, sports medicine, sports management, analytics, broadcasting, and more.
